Tim Robinson‘s HBO comedy “The Chair Company” has been renewed for a Season 2. News of the show’s pickup came during a New York press presentation by HBO and HBO Max Content chairman Casey Bloys — who also revealed several more series renewals as part of the programmer’s slate.
Robinson and Zach Kanin are behind “The Chair Company,” which the pay cabler called “HBO’s top freshman comedy in platform history,” averaging 3.3 million viewers in the U.S. via live+3 cross-platform averages.
The series became HBO’s most-watched comedy series debut in over five years, since the launch of Avenue 5, the Armando Iannucci-created series that launched in 2020. The Chair Company averaged 1.4M cross-platform viewers in the U.S. across its first three days after its premiere.
